Research Team
MarineSafety's research team has all the required knowledge and skills to set up, conduct, and report on research projects employing real time, human-in-the-loop simulation. The team normally comprises the following persons:
Project ManagerA mariner with extensive simulator experience interfaces with the customer, oversees preparation, conducts the simulation, and collaborates on the final report.
Database ProgrammerPrepares the area in which the simulation will take place and is on hand to make modifications as required.
HydrodynamicistBuilds the simulated ships, models unusual physical phenomena, and is available to modify dynamic models as required. |
Simulation engineerManages any changes necessary in the simulation hardware or software in order to meet the needs of the particular research.
Software engineerHas a thorough knowledge of the simulation and is available to make changes in the simulation to model new phenomenon, to create new output, and to build special analysis tools.
Simulator OperatorOne or more persons with maritime experience who prepare the simulators, run the experiments, and collect the data.
Simulator TechnicianAssures smooth functioning of the simulators and is on hand to make immediate repairs or changes as required. |
This team has the necessary knowledge and skill to examine nearly every aspect of terminal design and operation including, but not limited to, the following: |
In addition, after the terminal design and mooring procedures have been established, The MarineSafety team can help train the population of ship masters, tug masters, and pilots who will be called upon to maneuver ships in the new environment. |
